Ange must kick some Celtic backsides as fearful Hotline regular reveals relief red-hot Rangers can't catch them

Celtic's draw with St Mirren brought a barrage of Hotline critics with claims Ange Postecoglou's side do sometimes stop after all.

Not even the possible prospect of a treble with a Scottish Cup Final looming was enough to prevent fingers being pointed with some Hoops fans fearing they've taken their eye off the ball. Benjamin Clarke, Balornock, said: "It's just as well Celtic won the league at Tynecastle as we are starting to drop points to mediocre teams which is not a great preparation ahead of the Scottish Cup Final. They will have to get their house in order."

William Hutchison, Aberdeen, said: "What on earth is going on at Celtic? We have only taken one point from six and just because we won the league doesn't mean we should let our standards slip. I hope Ange kicked a few backsides after the St Mirren draw." George Wilson, West Sussex, said: "As captain and player for some years, Callum McGregor should know that Celtic simply can’t defend well enough and have been a laughing stock in Europe for 20 years and are the team everyone wants in the Champions League draw. Their defence is already starting to crumble so it’s comical for him to quote Celtic and a European final in the same sentence as it shows how deluded he is."

Jamie Thompson, Clydebank, said: "John Kennedy was quoted as saying he can't wait for the Champions League next season to emulate Pep Guardiola and Manchester City and I cannot stop laughing. Dear John, your team won't be playing against Scottish Premiership rubbish. I'm sure the teams that qualified for the Champions League won't be shaking in their boots."

Jimmy Murray, Edinburgh, said: "I see Kennedy is now the Celtic spokesman when Ange is unavailable. All I’m going to say is heaven help the club if Ange leaves as it is obvious this serial failure is next in line to be his replacement."

Bill Lockerbie, Northampton, said: "I'm reading how Rangers CEO James Bisgrove is forecasting dominance from his new club and I'm wondering if he knows what that actually entails. The dominance level has been set by Celtic and is the accumulation of what they have achieved in the past 12 years. A feat that will never be equalled, certainly not in his, or any of his club's supporter's lifetimes. An unconvincing win over Celtic and the odd piece of silverware over the next few years, hardly speaks of dominance."

Scott Kerr, Knightswood, said: "Bisgrove sounds like Walter Mitty when he says Rangers are going to do this and do that next season. He'll soon discover that buying new players costs lots of money which they don't have. The only capital in their bank is buttons."

Alan McGaw Alloa, said: "It was an absolutely brilliant performance by Rangers against Hibs and they thoroughly deserved the win. Considering all the missing players from their last appearance at Easter road it’s a new look Rangers for next season. Just a pity it’s come too late but onwards and upwards now."

Ian McKay, Denny, said: "How refreshing it is to see Rangers shuffling their defence, introducing youngsters, keeping clean sheets. Ianis Hagi scoring and no Alfredo Morelos with his petted lip, the threat of him losing control and seeing red or yellow. Well done Rangers and Michael Beale."

John Scott, Grassmoor, said: The BBC in London rightly condemned the violence at West Ham's European semi-final when players got involved with Alkmaar Ultras. However they failed to mention that it could have been retaliation for the behaviour of Hammers fans in the first-leg. It borders on deflection using two outbreaks of violence to make one seem worse than the other."

Alan Lough, Dunbar, said "Liverpool need to win their last game of the season and hope that either Newcastle or Manchester United lose their last two games so they can qualify for next season's Champions League. It's not a good situation to be in."
