Andy Robertson teased Trent-Alexander Arnold after the Liverpool right-back reached an impressive milestone against West Ham.
The Reds secured a hard-fought 1-0 win over the Hammers at Anfield and the Englishman was the star of the show once again.
Alexander-Arnold set up Sadio Mane for his opening goal which secured a vital three points for Jurgen Klopp's men.
It was the defender's 16th assist of the season in all competitions which beats his best ever tally from 2018/19 and 2019/20.
It certainly wasn't the most vintage assist of Alexander-Arnold's career as he hinted that his ball might not have been intended for Mane.
And Robertson was quick to poke fun at his teammate for his "mishit shot" as the pair spoke during the post-game interview.
Can Trent-Alexander Arnold reach 20 assists for Liverpool this season? Comment below
Alexander-Arnold told Sky Sports: "I try to contribute as much as I can to the team. We all want to help win games for the team and I am happy to be able to continue.
"Hopefully I can add more to the tally."
Robertson joked: "That one was a miss-hit shot wasn’t it?"
Alexander-Arnold replied: "They all count, they all count. Like Robbo said, I have dragged it but I try and contribute as much as I can for the team. I think we both do. We pride ourselves on that.
"We want to help win games. Kinda changing the game from full-back perspective and going and winning games for the team so I’m happy to contribute.
Sky Sports pundit Graeme Souness agreed with Robertson and agrees Alexander-Arnold was going for goal.
He said: "The technique would suggest he’s going for goal. He’s such a wonderful striker of the ball but I think his technique is slightly out and he ends up punching it into the ground. I think he was aiming for that side netting."
Liverpool weren't at their fluent best and had to defend for long spells as West Ham registered ten shots in the first half.
The Hammers had a late surge in the final ten minutes but the Reds were able to hold them off to secure the victory.
And Alexander-Arnold says it goes to show that Liverpool aren't all about what they can do at the top end of the pitch.
He added: "Both me and Andy (Robertson) tried to get forward when we had the chance, but to keep a clean sheet was our aim. We have been able to do that over the last few weeks. Being able to clear one off the line was great as it helped us keep that clean sheet.
"Look at the Burnley game, when we also got a 1-0 win. It's great to win by a big margin but these are the ones that matter. It doesn't matter how you do it, you have to get the job done."
