Andrea Radrizzani responds to Leeds United criticism with defiant message

Leeds United's Chairman and majority owner, Andrea Radrizzani took to social media in order to defend himself from a wave of fan criticism which has been compounded by the team's poor performance and result in the 3-0 home loss to Aston Villa on Thursday evening. The result put the club in further danger of relegation.

Fans showed their frustration towards the board during the game and there was loud chanting of Marcelo Bielsa's name after the third Villa goal went in. Many believe that Bielsa was not backed accordingly in the transfer market either last summer or in January and Radrizzani tweeted back after a fan tagged him in a message about the level of investment put into the club:

"100 mil precisely. Lot of work and time sacrificed to my family. I always try and work hard for the best of the club. The moment I realise I won’t be able to deliver I will let someone else to do a better job."

The Italian took full ownership of the club from Massimo Cellino in 2017/18 and after a failed first season, where Thomas Christiansen and Paul Heckingbottom were each sacked as manager, Radrizzani encouraged Victor Orta to make contact with Bielsa after the Spaniard revealed he would be his dream manager of Leeds.

Appointing Bielsa and bankrolling the team to the Championship title two years later came at high personal cost to Radrizzani but with the 49ers Enterprises revealed to have a deal in place to takeover the club, there has been accusations from some fans this season as they theorize that the Italian has attempted to hold back further funding and maximise his profits when the eventual sale happens.

Radrizzani has stated on multiple occasions that he does not intend to walk away from ownership of Leeds this summer, despite reports.
