AMARAVATI: In a major shuffling of All India Service officers, the state government appointed collectors and SPs to the new districts. The government has also shifted several state level officers to the new places.
Interestingly, the government retained as many as nine district collectors in the existing places while posting new collectors to the remaining 17 districts. The state government has also appointed joint collectors to all the 26 districts.
The government effected the transfer of IAS and IPS officers a little before the release of final notification for reorganisation of the districts late on Saturday night. All the officers posted to the new districts have been directed to rush to their respective areas and assume charge on Sunday itself. Women officers would be heading at least six districts as collectors. Several couples serving as All India Service (AIS) officers got the chance to work as district collectors in neighbouring districts.
District collectors of Krishna (J Nivas), Guntur (Vivek Yadav), East Godavari (Chevuri Harikiran) and Prakasam (Pravin Kumar) were moved to the state-level posts. Srikesh Lathkar (Srikakulam), Suryakumari (Vizianagaram), A Mallikharjuna (Visakhapatnam), KVN Chakradhar Babu (Nellore), Harinarayan (Chittoor) Vijayaramaju (Kadapa), P Koteswara Rao (Kurnool) and S Nagalakshmi (Anathapuram) were retained as district collectors in the existing places. CFMS CEO Ravi Subhash Pattamsetti was posted as new district collector in Anakapalli while Sumith Kumar was appointed as collector in Alluri Sitharama Raju district.
Vizag joint collector M Venugopala Reddy has been posted as Guntur district collector. Vijayawada joint collector Sivasankar Lotheti has been posted as Palnadu district collector. Four municipal commissioners were withdrawn from municipal administration department and posted as district collectors. Guntur municipal commissioner Nishant Kumar was moved as Parvathipuram Manyam district collector, Vijayawada municipal commissioner Ranjith Basha has been posted as Krishna district collector. Civil supplies director Dilli Rao has been posted as NTR district collector.
