Newcastle United progressed to the third-round of the Carabao Cup on Wednesday evening with a hard-fought 2-1 win over Tranmere Rovers at Prenton Park.
It was a tough night for the Magpies who went a goal down before Jamaal Lascelles and Chris Wood netted either side of half-time. Newcastle will face Crystal Palace in the next stage of the competition.
Here are the moments you may have missed from the physical Carabao Cup clash on Merseyside.

Anderson's own song
Newcastle fans have been clamouring for Elliot Anderson to be given a shot in the first-team and finally got their wish in the second-round encounter.
Anderson, 19, impressed once again - just as he did in pre-season - with an assured performance against the League Two outfit.
The youngster came off shortly towards the end of the tie, receiving a touching gesture from the travelling away fans in the form of his very own terrace chant.
Krafth on crutches
Emil Krafth was given a start on Wednesday evening as Eddie Howe sought to rest Kieran Trippier. Unfortunately, that plan went out the window as the Swede was forced off on a stretcher before the half-time interval.
Krafth re-emerged shortly after the break, sporting a pair of crutches for his troubles. The full-back limped to his seat on the bench to watch the second 45-minutes.
Let's hope the crutches are simply a precaution for the 28-year-old.
Joelinton gesture
We all know Joelinton is a fan-favourite on Tyneside these days. The Brazilian was once again a man in demand after the full-time whistle had blown at Tranmere.
Going over to the travelling fans, Joelinton took off his shirt and threw it into the crowd. One fearless supporter managed to jump the security and pose for a photo with the topless Newcastle midfielder.
The young fan took quite a while to get his phone working but Joelinton stood there patiently, smile on his face, as the Toon supporter got the technology to work!
Lascelles' break
You could hardly have missed Jamaal Lascelles' injury on Wednesday, given the fact that blood was pouring from his face every couple of minutes.
However, many fans in the stadium may not have realised the Newcastle captain was playing on with what looks like a broken nose. The defender didn't want to come off and battled through the pain, sticking his head into every challenge despite the cotton wool up his nose.
"He responded like the captain he is," Howe told Sky Sports. "He led by example and put his body on the line. He didn't want to come off but we had to protect him at that stage."
Eales hard at work
He's only been in the gig three days but it was a change of scenery for Darren Eales last night. Used to enjoying his time in the warmth of the United States, Wednesday evening saw the new Newcastle CEO checking out his new team at Prenton Park.
Eales was in the stands watching on as associates Dan Ashworth and Steve Nickson are in Spain trying to secure a deal for Alexander Isak.
