On the field, one-time All-Star Nick Castellanos is known for mashing dingers and being an integral part of the Philadelphia Phillies’ lineup. Off the field, he’s a great dad, especially in trying to teach his son Liam the game.
A new Father’s Day video from MLB shows the heartwarming lengths Castellanos takes in leaving the ladder behind for his family.
It ranges from Castellanos having his son on the field during warmups and the Phillies outfielder discussing his personal batting process to a beautiful closing note from Liam wishing his dad the happiest of Father’s Days at the stadium. (Note: With minimal footage of the opponent, it’s unclear when this game and these warmups took place.)
Overall the video is a perfect reminder that being a dad always comes first before being a ballplayer.

If this clip doesn’t capture what Father’s Day is about — celebrating all the tremendous patriarchs in our lives – then I don’t know what does. Here’s a hearty shoutout to Castellanos and his family for providing this excellent example.
