Amir Khan has claimed bitter rival Kell Brook is already "half-broken" ahead of their grudge match in Manchester.
The British star will finally get to settle his rivalry with Brook this weekend after years of back and forth exchanges over their career status.
Defeat for either men could signal retirement with both fighters in the twilight years of their time in the professional ranks.
Khan has vowed to send Brook into an early retirement but believes it makes no difference whether he defeated him "five years ago or now" to secure bragging rights.
"Iit’s a business, it is what it is,” said Khan. “Why not? He’s still Kell Brook, he still talks the same, he still feels the same way about fighting me and he still feels that he can beat me.
"I just don’t think he has it in him. He’s not the same Kell Brook he was before. A couple years ago, he would’ve given me a harder fight for sure.
"But now, he doesn’t have a chance. It’s probably better fighting him now because he’s already half-broken.
“Beating a Kell Brook now or beating him five years ago, I don’t think it makes a difference.
"When people read on my resume that I fought Kell Brook, they aren’t going to look what year that was so I don’t think that matters now.
“Kell has no chance of winning this fight. I’m going to destroy him, and it’s going to be a masterclass. The way I destroy him, he’ll need to retire after that, this will be his last fight."
Brook last competed against Terence Crawford in the latter stages of 2020 when he was stopped by the world champion.
Meanwhile Khan has not fought for over two and a half years since defeating Billy Dib in a mega-money bout.
The pair are now set to face each other having finally agreed to meet at a catchweight of 149lbs.

It is believed to favour Khan with Brook making his issues public around making the welterweight limit of 147lbs.
A six-figure penalty will be in place for every pound if a fighter misses the weight this week.
However Brook has fired back at Khan's "seven month" contract tussle claiming he has made a "big mistake".
"He has made a big mistake by having me on for seven months with the contract," Brook said. "Unfortunately for him I have been training in that time, that is why I am smiling now.
"I am there with the weight, I could have made the weight three of four week ago. I am very comfortable with where I am at, the 19th is right there now.
"I am genuinely happy I am not putting a poker face on, I am just enjoying it all now as I have put the hard work in being away from my family over Christmas."
