A Dallas woman says she may be ready to replace her BMW X3 after the vehicle’s door surfaces began leaving black residue on her hands during the Texas heat. TikTok creator Ellie Peterson (@elliepeterson3) shared a video in August 2026 about the issue, asking viewers for recommendations for her next vehicle.
Peterson said she bought the BMW while she was in college and described the vehicle as relatively new in her video. She said the black material comes off on her hands whenever she uses the doors.
