The VCL 26: Americas Last Chance Qualifier Grand Final between Shopify Rebellion Black and 2Game Esports threatened to turn into the Neverending Story as it was postponed on July 29 before the series could complete its second map. It came on a rather frustrating day for competitors and fans alike, with repeated technical interruptions causing the event to stretch on for an exhausting 12 hours with no conclusion in sight.
What was supposed to be a decisive best-of-five series, with a spot in VCT Americas 2026 on the line, had to be suspended with the result still unresolved. Both teams agreed to pause the series, get some sleep, and resume the following day.
