Ambitious plans for a new country park and visitor centre in Northumberland have been revealed.
Honeysuckle Country Park and Visitor Centre, near Widdrington, would include 105 lodges, a visitor centre, wooded meadow and play area.
The visitor centre will house a cafe or restaurant using produce from local farmers and manufacturers and farm shop selling local produce.
The development will be on land adjacent to the existing Honeysuckle Country Park, and once complete there will also be 53 mobile home and 26 motorhome pitches.
Outline planning permission is being sought for the scheme which is expected to create around 53 jobs during the construction phase and once in operation.
In a planning statement lodged with Northumberland County Council, it states: "There will also be additional direct local job support through the ripple of economic activity to local suppliers, trades and professionals.
"There will also be a broader economic benefit for local towns and visitor destinations through the tourism spend helping to support existing businesses and communities.
"The area has an established use for caravan parks and lodge facilities, this is a natural progression to broaden the facilities improving the choice and appeal as a base to enjoy local and regional attractions."
