Amber Heard appeared to make a jibe at Johnny Depp as she referenced his Edward Scissorhands character in a new TV interview.
The Aquaman actress has been instructed to pay Johnny compensatory damages of $10million (£8million) and a further $5million (£4million) in punitive damages, after losing a defamation battle against her ex-husband.
Speaking out for the first time since their bitter court battle, 36-year-old Amber has discussed the verdict with reporter Savannah Guthrie for NBC’s Today.
In the closing arguments, Johnny’s lawyer Camille Vasquez accused Amber of “acting” throughout the trial.
She also described her testimony as the “performance of a lifetime”.
But in her sit-down interview, Amber fired back at the claims saying: "Says the lawyer for the man who convinced the world he had scissors for fingers? I’m the performer?
“I had listened to weeks of testimony insinuating or saying directly that I’m a terrible actress. So I’m a bit confused how I could be both.”
Johnny, 59, previously portrayed Scissorhands - who has scissor blades instead of hands - in the Tim Burton movie back in 1991.
During the pre-recorded interview, Amber also revealed she understood why the jury reached their verdict in favour of the actor.
"I actually understand. He's a beloved character and people feel they know him. He's a fantastic actor," she explained.
Amber then referred to the negative social media coverage she faced, and how she feels it contributed to the jury's verdict.
The Hollywood star continued: "I don't care what one thinks about me or what judgments you want to make about what happened in the privacy of my own home, in my marriage, behind closed doors.
"I don't presume the average person should know those things. And so I don't take it personally."
She concluded: "But even somebody who is sure I'm deserving of all this hate and vitriol, even if you think that I'm lying, you still couldn't look me in the eye and tell me that you think on social media there's been a fair representation. You cannot tell me that you think that this has been fair."
Following the verdict, Amber released a statement to share her "heartbreak" over the result.
It followed shortly after the jury ruled in favour of Pirates of the Caribbean star Johnny on June 1.
