Amber Heard has revealed that she still “loves” ex-husband Johnny Depp even after their bitter defamation trial.
The Aquaman actress, 36, made the surprising claim during her first interview since losing the multi-million-dollar court case on June 1.
Sitting down with journalist Savannah Guthrie from NBC Today, she is seen questioned in a preview clip about her feelings towards the 59-year-old Hollywood star now.
“On the first day of the trial you issued a statement, and part of the statement said, ‘I still have love for Johnny,” queries Guthrie, to which Heard responds “Yes”.

Amber Heard: Yes.
SG: Is that still true?
AH: Yes.
SG: After everything?
AH: Absolutely. I love him. I loved him with all my heart. pic.twitter.com/h49L6XdYuR
When pressed further, she adds: “‘Absolutely. I love him. I loved him with all my heart”.
In the same clip, old footage is shown of Guthrie interviewing Depp following the announcement of his engagement to Heard.
The Pirates of the Caribbean actor can be heard praising Heard whom he describes as “sweet as can be” and “very good for me”.
It is just one of many segments previewed on the Today show with the full interview scheduled to air on Friday night in the US.
Depp and Heard were married from 2015 until 2017.
He sued her for $50m for implying he abused her in a Washington Post op-ed published in 2018. She pursued a $100m counterclaim, accusing him of conducting a “smear campaign” against her.
Depp has denied abusing Heard and alleges that she was abusive towards him.
Reflecting on their relationship, she said: “It was very, very toxic. We were awful to each other. I made a lot of mistakes, a lot of mistakes. I have always told the truth.”
Addressing her own behaviour while married to Depp, she said: “I did do and say horrible, regrettable things throughout my relationship. I behaved in horrible, almost unrecognisable to myself ways. So much regret.”
