Amazon has confirmed it is increasing the price of its Prime delivery and streaming service from next month.
The cost of Prime for monthly subscribers will rise from £7.99 to £8.99, while its annual membership will increase from £79 to £95.
The new rates will kick in from September 15 for new customers, or on the date of your next renewal.
Amazon said the price hike is due to "increased inflation and operating costs" and said it is the first time its Prime service has gone up since 2014.
However, it comes as families continue to struggle against the cost of living crisis.
More than 1.5 million people cancelled a streaming service in the first couple of months of 2022 as they look to save cash, according to figures released in April by market research firm Kantar.

Amazon Prime offers free next-day delivery on thousands of items, along with TV and movie streaming and live sport events.
However, not all its content is free. You have to pay to rent some shows and films - meaning an extra cost on top of your monthly or annual fee.
If you're already signed up to Amazon Prime and you're not happy about the price increases, you can cancel for free.
But before you do this, take a look and see if you actually make use of Amazon Prime - or if someone in your household already pays for the subscription.
Paying annually rather than monthly is also cheaper, if you're set on keeping Prime.
If you do think you can do without Amazon and you'd like to cancel your subscription, you might be eligible for a full refund if you haven't used any Prime services.
Those who are part-way through their deal and who have used Amazon Prime for delivery only might be able to get a partial refund.
A spokeswoman for Amazon said: "Prime offers the best of shopping and entertainment, and continues to improve each year.
"We have increased the number of products available with fast, unlimited Prime delivery, recently added ultra-fast fresh grocery delivery, and have significantly expanded our high-quality digital entertainment, including TV, movies, music, games, and books.
"With increased inflation and operating costs in the UK continuing to rise, we will change the price of Prime."
Netflix recently increased its basic and standard plans by £1 a month, while its premium plan was pushed £2 higher, only 18 months after a previous increase.
You can only pay monthly with Netflix, as it doesn't offer an annual membership.
Netflix is reportedly working on a lower-priced subscription service that comes with adverts - although prices and an exact launch date haven't been confirmed yet.
