These amazing videos show the intensity of the lightning that lit up the Dublin skyline last night in an epic weather event.
Torrential rain and continuous rolling thunder could be heard across the capital as the strongest thunderstorm heard in the city for some time took hold. Many shared their surprise and amazement as scenes similar to a movie lit up the sky.
An orange weather warning was in place until 1am this morning due to the thunderstorms which crept up along the east coast yesterday. Met Eireann said more thunderstorms were likely in the early hours of the morning but that the weather would clear.

Despite the amazing scenes last night, we're expected to have a dry day across Dublin. There may be isolated showers but overall it will be dry and sunny.
Met Eireann says: "Thursday will be mainly dry. Fairly cloudy with some bright or sunny spells. There may be isolated showers. Moderate southeast winds. Highest temperatures of 15 to 17 degrees."
