Amanda Holden takes cryptic swipe as Phillip Schofield quits This Morning

Phillip Schofield's dramatic departure from ITV's This Morning appears to have reignited another feud with a former co-star - as Amanda Holden took to social media following the news the longstanding presenter was to leave. Phillip Schofield confirmed on Saturday (May 20) he would be stepping down from This Morning with “immediate effect” after more than 20 years on the ITV programme, the broadcaster has announced.

Britain's Got Talent judge Amanda took to social media following the announcement. It comes after Amanda alleged in 2019 that she lost out the chance to host This Morning because of Phillip - with the gig going to Rochelle Humes instead. However, a spokesperson for ITV counter-acted these claims, saying in a statement that the decision is made by the producers of a programme and not the presenters.

Amanda, 52, has never shied away from sharing what happened between herself and Phillip and previously told Heart Radio listeners she once extended an olive branch to him – which he ignored, the Mirror reports. Now, she has taken to Instagram to share a post which many of her followers believed to be a rather cryptic post.

In view of her 2 million followers, Amanda has taken to her Instagram Grid, sharing a bicep curl emoji, which is often used to show support and strength to people. One follower commented: "No Holden back for sure, YES AMANDA!"
