Amanda Holden swigs champagne at 4,000 feet after completing epic 3 Peaks Challenge

Heart Breakfast host Amanda Holden popped champagne on the top of the UK's highest mountain – Ben Nevis – this morning marking the end of an epic 3 peaks 24 hour challenge live on air.

The TV personality, 51, rose to the task before declaring it “the hardest thing I’ve ever done in my life” when speaking to co-star Jamie Theakston from the 4,411 ft summit after climbing the highest mountains of Wales, England and Scotland (Snowdon, Scafell Pike and Ben Nevis) to raise funds for Global’s Make Some Noise.

Together with her team of trusty ‘Mandy’s Mountaineers’ - the group battled the elements during the challenge including severe weather warnings, 60mph winds, rain and snow.

Amanda climbed the three peaks on no sleep and scaling two of the mountains in the pitch black.

Speaking to her Heart Breakfast co-host Jamie Theakston on-air at the top of Ben Nevis Amanda said: “We made it by the skin of our teeth, it was horrific. You know, I never understand when I see people give up at the end, but for the first time in my life I thought, I’m not going to do it, I’m not going to make it, I’m going to give up, but we kept going. It was just incredible! We did it!”

Amanda set off at 8.15am on Thursday (October 6th), scaling the first peak Snowdon, Wales. Following that she scaled England’s highest mountain Scafell Pike and finally live on her Heart Breakfast show at 8. 15am today completed the challenge by climbing Scotland’s highest mountain, Ben Nevis.

Ahead of the challenge Amanda joked she had packed her 'lip gloss, stilettos and lashes' as she posed at the base of Snowdon in Wales where her first climb was getting underway.

Sharing a video of herself setting off, Amanda hadn't lost her trademark glam with her blonde locks suitably styled and a bright red branded coat and hat.

She had cheekily attached a hot pink pair of stilettos to her rucksack.
