Amanda Holden's dedicated pre-BGT backstage routine - with help of seven assistants

Amanda Holden is known for her style when she steps out onto the Britain's Got Talent stage ready to take her seat on the judges' panel.

Her perfect make-up and hair along with glamorous, but often controversial and revealing, outfits have become the norm for the star on the ITV Saturday night talent show.

One of Amanda’s raciest dresses clocked up a record-breaking 663 official complaints back in 2016, when she wore a Julian Macdonald plunging neckline. She was reported as saying she hates the phrase 'dressing for your age' and has no plans to tone down her looks this year.

The mum-of-two regularly shares pictures and videos on social media of life behind the scenes at BGT filming - and they reveal her glamorous look takes a lot of effort.

A video from the 2019 live final showed how her dedicated team of seven assistants get her camera-ready, revealing her make-up and hair routines. Her talented helpers work on her hair and make-up at the same time to speed the process up, with one blowdrying while another applies foundation.

In addition to her hair and make-up team, Amanda's fashion team are always hard at work. In the 2019 clip, she gives them a shoutout as they're still sewing her costume when she's getting ready.

She said: "We are backstage at Britain's Got Talent... getting ready... I'm annoying everyone... [There's one assistant] pouring drinks. It's all very exciting.”

But when it comes to demands, Amanda is no diva.

While some stars produce a list of sometimes plain crazy requests for their pre and post show dressing room - Rock Star Prince was once reported to have asked for $10,000 worth of flowers to fill his dressing room - Amanda has more conservative requests.

Known in the industry as riders - where a touring star asks the venue to provide certain foods and snacks, beauty perks, or even animals - Amanda revealed her own must-haves. And they turned out to be very modest.

Speaking on her breakfast show, which she co-hosts on Heart Radio with Jamie Theakston, she revealed that she likes carrots and coconut water. Also on her list was a Nespresso Coffee machine, to which she added: "I can't live without that."

Simon Cowell ’s reality shows have captivated audiences for years - Britain’s Got Talent first appeared on our tv screens in 2007.

Acts ranging from singers to dancing dogs, and from comedians to magicians are all showcased and hopeful of beating the buzzer to make it to the final.

Along with way, the judging panel has become just as watchable as the acts with David Walliams, Alesha Dixon and Amanda Holden taking their seats alongside Cowell.
