Amanda Holden in tears as midwife who saved her life makes surprise Britain's Got Talent appearance

Amanda Holden was left in tears on the Britain's Got Talent: The Ultimate Magician stage as she reunited with the midwife that saved her life. During the show, which aired on Sunday, December 18, the judge took part in an act that called for her to think of a special person.

As the 51-year-old joined the magician on stage, he placed a card flat down in her right hand and said: "Amanda, I would like you to think of just one person in your life, one person who went above and beyond when you needed it most. So, do you have a name in your mind?"

Nodding, an emotional Amanda responded: "Her name is Pippa Nightingale. She delivered my baby and she saved my life."

Slowly turning over the card in her hand, the magician said: "Every time you see it [the card] it's going to remind you of all the people you're grateful for in life, but more importantly, you'll be reminded of your friend Pippa Nightingale."

Pippa's name was then revealed to be written on the card, leaving Amanda stunned. "There's no way you would know that," she told him as she put her hands over her face in shock.

Minutes later the magician summoned Pippa to the stage, with the pair sharing an emotional embrace. Amanda also posted about the moving moment on Instagram.

Sharing a clip with her 1.8 million followers, she wrote: "This Sunday night is an emotional one for me on @bgt - in fact I was totally floored.. magic isn't always known for being emotional but there were tears! Lots of them.
