Amad will sit out Sunderland's home game against Sheffield United but Alex Pritchard is expected to play a part, Tony Mowbray has confirmed. The duo missed the Black Cats' weekend 1-0 win at Norwich City, with on-loan Manchester United forward Amad suffering a hamstring injury in training last week while Pritchard had also picked up a minor knock.
Mowbray said after the game at Carrow Road that there was a chance they could be involved against the Blades tomorrow night, but if they did not make that game then they could be ready to return against Luton Town at the Stadium of Light on Saturday. Amad has been working with the medical staff but is still not 100 percent, and Mowbray will not risk him against Sheffield United although he is hopeful he will be fit to face the Hatters.
"I haven't seen Amad today, he's been with the medical department," said Mowbray. "He was on the grass yesterday doing a little bit of training with the medical department, but he still had an awareness and a feeling [of the injury] so I've told him to forget about the game tomorrow.

"Pritchard was out on the grass yesterday with Amad and was out training with us today so he will probably have some involvement tomorrow, we'll wait and see if there is any reaction from his training and I'll know tomorrow. If his name appears on the bench then you'll know he has come through alright.
"Amad won't be involved, but he will hopefully be ready for Saturday."
Sunderland's win at Norwich ended a three-game losing streak and also a sequence that had seen them pick up just a single point from four outings. They climbed to tenth in the table, five points outside the play-off spots.
Second-placed Sheffield United have won two of their last six league games and are four points clear of third-placed Middlesbrough.
