Sunderland were punished for their mistakes as they lost at play-off rivals Coventry City. Jamie Allen put the Sky Blues in front just after the midway point in the first half, with Viktor Gyokeres adding the second a minute from the end of normal time.
But Amad scored a brilliant goal in injury time to give Sunderland late hope, although they were unable to force an equaliser in the final few seconds. It was an unhappy return to Coventry for former Sky Blues boss Tony Mowbray, as his side suffered its second away defeat in the space of five days following the shock reverse at Rotherham in midweek.
But it was also only the second time this season since Sunderland have suffered back-to-back defeats, with the previous occasion coming in October.

Here's how our Sunderland AFC writer James Hunter rated the players.
Anthony Patterson 6
Could do nothing about the goals and otherwise barely had a save to make
Trai Hume 7
Got forward down the right and tested Wilson with a shot in the early stages
Dan Ballard 6
Had a real tussle with Gyokeres throughout and generally did well, but the striker got in front of him for the second goal
Danny Batth 6
Strong at the back and if his header had gone in rather than hitting the bar at 0-0, it might have been a different story
Aji Alese 6
Spent much of his time getting forward, and had one big chance in the second half which he put wide
Edouard Michut 6
Found it hard going at first, but got better as the game wore on
Dan Neil 7
Worked hard in central midfield and kept the ball moving
Patrick Roberts 6
Did what he could to unlock the Coventry defence, but got no protection from the referee
Amad 7
Became more of a threat as time ticked on and scored an excellent goal at the end, albeit it was just a consolation
Jack Clarke 7
Caused Coventry problems whenever he got on the ball
Joe Gelhardt 6
A focal point up front but could have done with more help
Subs
Alex Pritchard 6
For Clarke 69mins. A bit of experience and nous gave Sunderland a different threat late in the game
Pierre Ekwah 6
For Gelhardt 70mins. Did OK
Abdoullah Ba 5
For Michut 70mins. Gave the ball away too often
Luke O'Nien 5
For Alese 74mins. Gave possession away in the lead up to Coventry's second goal
Jewison Bennette N/A
For Alese 81mins.
Not used: Bass, Lihadji
