Smirking Ally McCoist has revealed that iconic Rangers boss Walter Smith would get him on empire biscuit duty during the pre-match team meetings.
McCoist worked as Smith 's assistant during his second spell at Ibrox and while he was manager of the Scotland team.
However, the former striker revealed his sole input to meetings was limited as he was told to sort out the boss' sweet tooth.
Speaking on talkSPORT, former West Ham assistant Stuart Pearce lifted the lid on some of the behind-the-scenes habits of players and David Moyes.
And McCoist chimed in with Smith's unusual team meeting role he was assigned.
He said: "I need tell you, God rest him, Walter loved an empire biscuit.
"That was my job, that was my only job as assistant manager with Rangers and Scotland.
"When we picked the teams on the Friday, whether it was Rangers on the Friday or Scotland on the Friday, my job was (to get) an empire biscuit for the old yin."
Confused Pearce chimed in: "I don't know about an empire biscuit."
Stunned McCoist replied: "Aw come on Pearcey man! He loved it, the old yin loved an empire biscuit."
