John McGinn was convinced Scotland should have been awarded a penalty against Morocco after he went down in the box.
The Aston Villa captain protested to referee Ilgiz Tantashev but saw his appeal waved away as a VAR review also dismissed calls for a spot-kick.
McGinn had looked to skip beyond Morocco midfielder Neil El Aynaoui but fell to the turf after a tangle of legs.
The midfielder was adamant that a penalty should have been given, but his appeals were ignored.
On commentary, Ally McCoist commented: "It's interesting the reaction, isn't it?
"The right leg looks as if it comes across him, you don't know.
"Certainly have a look at it. He's given a by-kick.
"It's interesting to see the reaction from the Scotland boys, they are adamant, of course they would be.
"The right leg definitely comes across. I'm not sure if there was enough contact, though, or any contact for that matter."

In the closing stages, Scott McTominay was felled in the box, but again, there was nothing doing.
ITV expert and former referee Christina Unkel reckons Scotland should have had a penalty then.
"The first thing you are looking for as a VAR is if there is any touch on that ball, and the answer is no," she explained.
"We saw that second replay there, that was exactly what I was looking for, there was no contact on the ball whatsoever.
"There is a trip up coming from behind that does contact his left lower leg. For this I do think this is a missed incident for VAR to not recommend that for a penalty and the referee to not make the decision on the field for penalty.
"I know this referee is calling a more physical game, but this is a very clear penalty."
