Lawyers representing multiple women have come forward with claims of rape and sexual abuse against Mohamed Al Fayed, the former owner of the renowned London department store Harrods. The accusations liken the case to those involving notorious sex offenders Jimmy Savile, Jeffrey Epstein, and Harvey Weinstein.

During a press briefing in London following the release of the BBC documentary “Al-Fayed: Predator At Harrods,” lawyers characterized the Egypt-born businessman, who passed away last year at 94, as a “monster” who preyed on young women and girls employed at the store during his 25-year tenure.

The lead lawyer highlighted the similarities to other high-profile cases, citing the institutional knowledge akin to the Savile scandal, a procurement system resembling Epstein's, and abuse of power reminiscent of Weinstein's actions.

One alleged victim, identified as Natacha, described Al Fayed as “highly manipulative” and targeting vulnerable individuals who were in need of financial support or lacked parental protection.

The current owners of Harrods, who acquired the store from Al Fayed in 2010, expressed shock at the abuse allegations, stating they were only made aware of the claims last year. They emphasized their commitment to addressing the issue and preventing such misconduct in the future.

However, the lawyers disputed Harrods' assertion of ignorance, pointing out that sexual misconduct allegations against Al Fayed had been circulating for decades. They called on the store to take responsibility and rectify the situation promptly.

Renowned U.S. lawyer Gloria Allred, known for her involvement in high-profile sexual abuse cases, including those of Epstein, Weinstein, and Cosby, also weighed in on the matter. She criticized the toxic and abusive environment that allegedly existed beneath the glamour of Harrods.

The unfolding scandal has cast a shadow over the prestigious department store, once revered for its elegance and reputation. As the legal battle unfolds, the public awaits further developments in this disturbing case of alleged abuse and exploitation.
