Giovanni van Bronckhorst has confirmed that no decision has been made over his Rangers No1 for next season.
Veteran keeper Allan McGregor put pen to paper on a one-year contract extension last month after taking time out to consider his next move. He appeared in the Scottish Cup Final win as a late substitute in what many felt was a swansong for the 40-year-old - but he is back at the Light Blues for another season as he bids to help the club reclaim the Premiership crown from Celtic and reach the Champions League group stages.
McGregor was instrumental in Rangers' run to the Europa League Final last season as he featured in 48 games in all competitions. But Van Bronckhorst has revealed that no players are guaranteed starting positions and that while Greegsy has the most experience in the team, he is very happy with McLaughlin and the duo are pushing each other to gain the gloves ahead of the new campaign.

Asked if he had given McGregor any assurances before signing his 12 month extension, the Gers boss said: “No, I’d never do that.
“I cannot guarantee starting positions to any players. Of course, you have experienced players and young players.
“I think it is a process that is natural in any team sport and eventually we are one team. We need the whole squad.
“Allan is at an age where he has the most experience in this team.
“He has been an important player and still is an important player to the squad.
“But I am also very happy about Jon. He is doing well, too. He did really well in the cup competitions, and they are pushing each other as well to be the first goalkeeper this year.”
