Black Ops Royale, the Blackout-inspired mode in Call of Duty: Warzone, introduces a different approach to gunplay compared to traditional Battle Royale matches. Instead of relying on custom loadouts, you must loot weapons across the Avalon map, each coming with predetermined attachments.
These preset setups are known as Weapon Build Archetypes. Each build is designed to support a specific playstyle, with five attachments that complement how the weapon is meant to be used. Knowing these Weapon Builds before jumping into a match is important as it allows you to quickly grab weapons that match your preferred playstyle.
Here’s a complete breakdown of all Weapon Build Archetypes available in Warzone Black Ops Royale, along with other important details about the weapon system in the mode.

How to get weapons in Warzone Black Ops Royale

Unlike standard BR, Black Ops Royale removes the traditional custom loadout system. Instead, every player drops into the match with only a pistol and a knife, meaning you’ll need to find stronger weapons as you explore the map. Weapons are acquired through ground loot, supply boxes, and activity rewards scattered across Avalon.
Avalon features several map activities that function similarly to Contracts in BR. These include hunting bounties, cracking Strongboxes for Armor, capturing Relays for UAV sweeps and redeploys, or fighting through Guild defenses.
Another option to secure weapons is exploring Cradle Breaches. These special zones across Avalon spawn hallucinated zombie hordes. Surviving the encounter can reward you with powerful weapons and high-tier loot.
Weapon Rarity in Black Ops Royale

In Black Ops Royale, every weapon you find comes with a rarity level that determines how many attachments it already has. Weapons are divided into five color-coded rarity tiers, and the higher the rarity, the more attachments the weapon already has equipped.
- Common (Gray): 1 attachment
- Uncommon (Green): 2 attachments
- Rare (Blue): 3 attachments
- Epic (Purple): 4 attachments
- Legendary (Orange): 5 attachments (maximum)
Early in the match, most of the guns you’ll come across are Common. Even though you may only see a few attachments active at first, every weapon actually has five predetermined attachments tied to its build. These are shown above the weapon icon in your HUD.
The highlighted ones are the attachments currently active, while the grayed-out ones indicate future upgrades. As you increase the weapon’s rarity during the match, those remaining attachments unlock automatically and instantly improve the gun’s performance.

How to upgrade your weapon in Black Ops Royale

You can upgrade your guns using Attachment Kits, which drop from ground loot, supply boxes, or earned by completing activities. They’re easy to spot thanks to a purple glow around them.
When you use an Attachment Kit on a gun, it boosts the weapon’s rarity and automatically adds the next attachment in its predetermined build. Get as many kits as you need to fully upgrade your guns. Make sure that you’re holding the gun you want to upgrade before using a kit.
