All we know so far about what happened to Tipperary couple found dead as Garda investigation continues

Gardaí in Tipperary are continuing to investigate all the circumstances of the discovery of the bodies of an elderly couple in Cloneen.

The couple, who have been named as Nicholas (Nick) and Hilary Smith, aged 81 and 79 respectively, and originally from the UK, were found inside their house in the area on Monday, June 20. Locals had alerted gardaí to the area after noticing the grass growing wild and no activity.

The white pebble-dashed detached bungalow is situated along a rural road between the villages of Cloneen on the R692 Kilkenny to Cashel Road and Mullinahone, around 15km from Clonmel and 35km from Kilkenny city.
