Christmas Day is right around the corner which means that Boxing Day is also just days away - we can't quite believe it either.
Usually a select number of stores will remain closed on the big day itself, December 25, before reopening to the public for post-Christmas shopping the following day.
And whilst some supermarkets such as Lidl, Tesco and Morrisons will be open to the general public on Boxing Day, others will not with many keeping their doors shut the day after Christmas.

Retailers have now issued their festive opening hours, with many confirming that they will be remaining closed on December 26. Here's the shops open on Boxing Day 2022...
Aldi
Aldi will be closed for two days over the festive period - Christmas and Boxing Day as a thank you to its staff members for their hard work this year.
Kelly Stokes, recruitment director at Aldi UK, said: “Our amazing colleagues play a vital role in keeping our shelves stocked year-round which is why, once again, we’ll also be keeping our stores closed on Boxing Day as a thank you for all of their hard work.”

Iceland and The Food Warehouse
Both retailers announced they will be closed on Boxing Day this year. Richard Walker, Iceland's managing director, took to Twitter to share the news stating: "We'll be closing all our Iceland and Food Warehouse stores on Boxing Day, to give our colleagues a well-earned rest with their friends & families."

Waitrose
All Waitrose stores will be closed on Boxing Day.
The supermarket giant however highlighted that a few sites at petrol stations may still be open. They say: "On Christmas Day and Boxing Day, our stores will be closed with the exception of those in Welcome Break motorway service stations and Shell forecourts – some of which will be open 24 hours."
