All the roadworks happening in Greater Manchester this week

Road works can slow down your journey, cause major disruption and bring havoc to your day.

Below is a comprehensive and helpful guide to all the roadworks across Manchester and in your area, to give you a head start in planning your journey and avoiding pit falls.

According to Transport for Greater Manchester, here is what to expect when you are out on the roads.

Manchester

  • Multi-way signals will be in place on Wilmslow Road in Woodhouse Park, close to Mill Lane, from Tuesday 15 to Friday 18 March. Work will take place between 10am and 3pm.

  • There will be a lane closure in place on Altrincham Road, Benchill from Monday 21 March to Friday 1 April.

Bolton

  • There are currently no planned major roadworks due to take place in Bolton this week.

Bury

  • Multi-way signals will be in place on Bury New Road, Prestwich between St Paul's Road and Moor Lane on Saturday 19 and Sunday 20 MArch.

  • Two-way signals will be in place outside 74 Bury Old Road, Whitefield from Monday 21 March to Friday 25 March. Work will be suspended between 7.30am-9.30am and 3.30pm and 6.30pm.

Oldham

  • Multiway signals will be in place on Middleton Road, Chadderton (outside the junction of Nordens Street and the junction of Middlewood Court) from Thursday 17 March to Friday 1 April 2022 between 9.30am and 3.30pm.

  • A lane closure will be in place outside 109A Huddersfield Road, Oldham from Thursday 17 March to Friday 25 March. Work will be suspended between 7.30am and 9.30am and again between 3.30pm and 6.30pm.

Rochdale

  • Multi-way signals will be in place on Middleton Road in Chadderton, at the junction with Peel Street, from Tuesday 22 to Thursday 31 March.

  • Please visit the Rochdale Council website for more details of major road improvement schemes in the area.

Road works (Peter Harbour)

Salford

  • Please visit the Salford Council website for details of major road improvement schemes in the area.

  • There will be lane closures in place at the following locations for the Trafford Road improvement scheme; Regent Road roundabout, Broadway, Goodiers Drive, Trafford Road and Merchants Quay. The work is taking place until April 2022.

  • Multi-way signals will be in place on St James Road (near Anderton's Fish and Chip Shop) until Monday 21 March.

  • A lane closure will be in place on Worsley Road, Swinton close to the Dales Brow roundabout. Work will take place between 9.30am and 3.30pm from Monday 14 to Monday 21 March.

  • Multiway signals will be in place on Worsley Road, at the junction of Greenleach Lane, from Tuesday 22 to Friday 25 March.

  • A lane closure will be in place on Bentcliffe Way in Eccles, outside Charter House, from Monday 21 to Friday 25 March. Work will take place between 9am and 4pm.

  • Two-way signals will be on Liverpool Road, Eccles close to the Barley Farm pub. Work will take place from 9.30am to 3.30pm from Monady 14 to Monday 21 March.

  • Multiway signals will be in place on Marlborough Road, close to the junction with Dudley Street, from Wednesday 16 to Tuesday 29 March.

Stockport

  • A lance closure will be in place on A555 Manchester East Airport Link, Woodford from Gilbent Roundabout to Woodford Road from Wednesday 16 March to Monday 4 April between 9.30am and 3.30pm.

  • A lane closure will be in place on Kingsway, Cheadle (south of the junction with Broadway) from Monday 21 to Friday 25 March between 7pm and 6am.

Tameside

  • Two-way signals will be in place on Manchester Road (outside house 255) until 3 June. Work will take place 9.30am to 3.30pm on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays and from 10pm on Saturdays to 8am on Sundays.

  • There will be a lane closure in place on Manchester Road and Manchester Road South from Thursday 17 March to Monday 21 March from 8pm to 5am.

  • A lane closure will be in place outside Stamford Square in Ashton under Lyne, close to the junction with Montague Road. Work will take place between 9.30am and 3.30pm from Friday 11 to Thursday 17 March.

  • Two-way signals will be in place on Duckinfield Road, Hyde close to the junction with Throstle Bank Street. Work will take place between 9.30am and 3.30pm from Tuesday 15 to Wednesday 23 March.

Trafford

  • There will be a lane closure in place on Chester Road, Stretford (opposite Clipper House) from Saturday 19 to Friday 25 March.

Wigan

  • There is a lane closure in place on King Street, from the junction with Wallgate, until Sunday 10 April.
