Christmas is a busy time for everyone, with plenty of presents to buy and wrap and the Christmas dinner to sort out.
Another major feat for people across the country is travel; whether you're jetting off abroad for the festive break or if you're driving home to spend Christmas with family. UK drivers are embarking on an estimated 20 million car trips to see friends and family in the run-up to Christmas Day.
And, of course, the travel after Christmas day can also be hectic, with plans to visit friends and other family members in different locations. There will be more pressure on the roads this weekend, with thousands of members of the Rail, Maritime and Transport union (RMT) at Network Rail to strike from 6pm on Christmas Eve.
It's always best to plan ahead to try and avoid any disruption. Drivers should also be aware that some of England’s motorways and major A roads will also be shut during the Christmas period.
National Highway s have released an update on the roads that will be closed during the next few days. Check below to see if your journey will be impacted.
