There a number of planned closures and roadworks along the M4 in Wales and beyond in the coming week. The works will take place at different locations across the motorway on both sides of the Severn Bridge, Traffic Wales and National Highways have confirmed.

Below is a list of all the planned M4 closures and roadworks in Wales and England for the week starting Monday, October 3. For all the latest traffic and travel news in Wales click here.
M4 closures and roadworks in Wales:
- M4 Eastbound between junction 23 and the Prince of Wales Bridge . This road closure could have a big impact on traffic but the good news is it will only be in place between 9pm on Monday and 6am on Tuesday, so it’s one to bear in mind if you are travelling that way late on Monday or overnight.
- M4 eastbound between junctions 23 and 22 . While the road will remain open, there will be roadworks in the area. This will affect traffic between 9pm on Monday and 6am on Tuesday.
- M4 westbound between junctions 22 and 23 . This is described as a “slight” disruption by Traffic Wales, due to roadworks which have been in force since July and are expected to continue until mid-November. In addition to the work already underway, emergency roadworks are planned on the same stretch between 9pm on Monday and 6am on Tuesday.
- M4 westbound between junctions 18 and 19 . Emergency barriers are being repaired, with the work being carried out between 9pm on Thursday and 6am on Friday.
- M4 eastbound exit slip at junction 19 . “Slight” roadworks are planned between 10pm on Wednesday and 6am on Friday.
- M4 westbound exit slip at junction 19 . “Slight” roadworks are planned between 10pm on Wednesday and 6am on Friday.
M4 closures and roadworks in England:
- M4 eastbound between junctions 12 and 11 . Works started back in January, and the carriageway will be closed until 6am on Monday.
- M4 eastbound between junctions 3 and 1 . A carriageway closure and entry slip road closure for structures works, between 10.30pm on Sunday and 5.30am on Monday.
- M4 eastbound junction 3 entry slip . The entry slip will be closed for structures works between 10.30pm on Sunday and 5.30am on Monday.
