Sunderland will be ball number 33 in the pot for The Carabao Cup Round One draw. The draw for the competition will take place live on Sky Sports News at 2:30pm on Thursday 23 June.
The Black Cats were one of the surprise packages in the competition last season, reaching the Quarter Final but were beaten 5-1 by Arsenal at the Emirates. Championship, League One and League Two sides will make up the 35 ties in the First Round, including Stockport County and Grimsby Town who won promotion from the National League.
Burnley and Watford will join the competition in the Second Round alongside the Premier League Clubs that are not competing in Europe. The remaining Premier League clubs will join the competition in Round Three.
