The deadline for applications to secure primary school places in Bristol is fast approaching. With less than a week left to apply, parents need to make that all-important choice to select which three schools they would like to educate their children for September 2023.
With plenty of choices available in the Bristol region, Office for Standards in Education, Children's Services and Skill (Ofsted) ratings can help to narrow things down. Schools are graded on a number of factors which have changed over the years, meaning that those inspected more recently will have been assessed on slightly different criteria than those visited long ago.
More recently the following factors are looked at by inspectors in primary schools such as the effectiveness of leadership and management, quality of teaching, learning and assessment, personal development, behaviour and welfare, outcomes for pupils and early years provision.
