All new content in THE FINALS Season 11: Melee rework, Galaxy Estates, and bot matches

Season 11 takes THE FINALS to the stars with a space-themed map and sponsor. As we’re slowly approaching one of the biggest seasons, Season 12, Embark also polished the new player experience with new onboarding and bot matches.

Here’s everything coming to THE FINALS Season 11, Galaxy Masters, launching on July 9.

Everything coming to THE FINALS in Season 11

A space map, Galaxy Estates

Galaxy Estates takes THE FINALS to space for the first time. The map is set in a space ring colony orbiting Saturn, sponsored by COMETA. Much like its sponsor, Galaxy Estates is inspired by retro sci-fi. The habitat is designed after early NASA concepts from the 70s, with suburban areas, luxury homes, a spaceport, a gym, and a botanical garden.

The central hub of the Galaxy Estates is called the terminal, and it has a unique feature: an encircling speed tunnel. This tunnel increases your speed, allowing you to quickly rotate between the core areas. Another new feature is the anti-gravity columns that you can use to rotate through vertical spaces.

Galaxy Estates is available in the following modes: Cashout, Ranked Cashout, Quick Cash, and Team Deathmatch. You can also play Head-2-Head and Final Round in private matches. During the first week, there’s a dedicated Galaxy Estates queue for you to explore the new map.

Melee rework

Despite being a more niche playstyle in THE FINALS, melee combat could often feel oppressive. While a lot of the weapons have increased damage potential in Season 11, they now require more skill and precision to use.

There are two new melee systems: Precision and Stamina. Precision is indicated by a new crosshair on all melee weapons with two lines on the sides. To deal maximum damage, you must land hits inside the lines. On the other hand, hits outside the lines deal around 70 percent of the total damage.

Landing precision hits ties with Stamina. Stamina adds a lunge to melee attacks and acts as a gap-closer. You consume Stamina with attacks, but recover it with hits. This means you can’t aimlessly swing your weapon and need to be more deliberate with attacks.

On top of that, here are the changes to some of the melee weapons:

  • Riot Shield: It can now block attacks more effectively and can block melee attacks. The new Shield Bash attack can knock back enemies.
  • Dual Blades: Now has a cross attack when attacking during block.
  • Spear: The spin attack consumes Stamina, but landing hits restores Stamina and allows you to chain another spin attack, up to three times.
  • Sword : Secondary lunge attack rotational constraints are removed or reduced.

For players on the receiving side of the melee attack, the new quick melee knocks back enemies and now has Stamina, too. Kicking the enemy consumes Stamina, but unlike weapon Stamina, it doesn’t regenerate on hits.

New onboarding and bot matches

If you or your friends are jumping into the arena for the first time, THE FINALS has a new tutorial that takes you through a full Cashout match. For veteran players, there are also some lore bits that tell stories about this virtual world.

After completing the tutorial, you enter the Early Talent Program – a series of challenges designed to familiarize you with different modes, playstyles, and features, in THE FINALS. Tutorial videos are still there, with a few new ones added in Season 11.

New or returning players can practice core mechanics in bot Cashout matches. The bot enemies are in beta, but can navigate the dynamic environment, cause destruction, and use different gadgets. Playing bot matches contributes to the World Tour progress and other progression systems, but at a reduced rate.

Personal performance in Ranked

Season 11 introduces personal performance bonuses in Ranked that grant bonus Ranked Score based on how you perform. The amount scales with the performance grade and Rank, and it’s most impactful in lower ranks, like Silver and Gold. Other ranked updates include a Ranked Score breakdown at the end of each match, updated placement calibration, and an additional Diamond reward token.

This is on top of multiple QoL changes, ping improvements, an improved Cashout spawn system, and a ton of balance changes, coming to THE FINALS on July 9.
