All 3 Packers Pro Bowlers replaced by alternates due to injury

Matt LaFleur might be coaching the game for the NFC, but none of the players from the Green Bay Packers selected to the initial Pro Bowl roster will actually be playing in the game.

All three of the Packers’ Pro Bowlers have dropped out of the game due to injury and were replaced by alternates.

Quarterback Aaron Rodgers was replaced by Kirk Cousins of the Minnesota Vikings.

Receiver Davante Adams was replaced by Mike Evans of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Defensive lineman Kenny Clark was replaced by Javon Hargrave of the Philadelphia Eagles.

Rodgers and Adams were originally selected as starters.

Packers running back Aaron Jones is a first alternate, meaning he’d get the first shot if one of the NFC’s running backs dropped out.

The team’s other alternates are punter Corey Bojorquez, cornerback Rasul Douglas and linebacker Rashan Gary.

Rodgers and Adams are Pro Bowl veterans with big decisions to make on their futures this offseason, providing plenty of incentive to skip the meaningless all-star game.

The Pro Bowl is on Sunday afternoon. It will be played at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas.
