Real Madrid legend Iker Casillas has excluded Liverpool’s Alisson Becker from his list of the world’s best goalkeepers.
Since arriving at Anfield in 2018, Alisson has established himself among the world’s best stoppers with his consistent performances. He has been a key figure in helping the Reds win six major trophies, including a Premier League title and Champions League.
In a video published on social media by 433, Casillas was asked for his top five goalkeepers in world football. However, when giving his list he did not mention Alisson. In fifth place came Bayern Munich’s Manuel Neuer, with Barcelona’s Marc-Andre ter Stegen in fourth.

Third spot went to Atletico Madrid’s Jan Oblak, with Manchester City’s Ederson in second. Casillas handed top spot to Real Madrid stopper Thibaut Courtois.
Casillas’ decisions were made despite Alisson winning plenty of individual awards since his move to Liverpool. Last term the Brazil international won the Premier League Golden Glove award alongside compatriot Ederson.
Alisson was also the winner of the inaugural Yashin Trophy back in 2019. This was a new award where the winner was picked by former Ballon d’Or winners, which Alisson won in its first year. Paris Saint-Germain’s Gianluigi Donnarumma won the award last year.
