This Morning presenter Alison Hammond was announced yesterday (Thursday) as the new face to host the Great British Bake Off after Matt Lucas resigned last year.
And it has sparked delighted fans of the ITV personality to recall her iconic appearance on he celebrity version of the show last year for Stand Up 2 Cancer.
As Alison went up against James Blunt, Alex Jones, and Joe Sugg, she declared: “I do think that good food and good baking comes from the heart - and I’ve got a lot of heart.”
But although her "delicious" baking, as judge Prue pointed out, was never a problem on her stint of the Channel 4 show, it was her common sense which got viewers in stitches.
People have taken to social media to re-share the iconic clip of the 48-year-old hilariously thinking her oven door had gone missing when she went to put her cake in the oven - only to realise it was a 'fancy' oven which meant the door slid up from a compartment.
She stood in complete bewilderment at the seemingly 'doorless' oven before realising how it worked, and it left viewers in stitches.
"Everything’s going smoothly. This is gonna make really boring TV. Hold on, where’s the oven door gone?," she quipped in the video.
"Alison Hammond was once a contestant on Celeb Bake Off. She thought her oven doors went missing. Absolute icon," said one person.
Another wrote: "Remember when Alison Hammond thought the oven door disappeared," as they shared the iconic clip alongside a series of laughing faces.
A third penned: "Alison Hammond as new co-host of The Great British Bake Off is perfection! Can’t wait for more iconic moments like the time she thought she had lost the oven door! #GBBO"
Meanwhile, on This Morning, Alison cackled as she admitted she only took the job "for the cake" as they shared a snippet of the hilarious throwback to her time on the show.
"It's like witchcraft," Dermott O'Leary joked to the co-host during Thursday's show, as they took a look back on the clip which went viral at the time.
Lorraine congratulated her ITV co-star in a Twitter post on Friday morning. She wrote: "Big congrats to the force of nature that is our @AlisonHammond - she will be fabulous on Bake Off #GBBO @BritishBakeOff."
This Morning favourite Alison will become the first non-white host or judge in the show’s 14-year history. One source told The Mirror: “Alison is a great choice. She will bring warmth and humour to the tent in spades. We’re laughing just thinking about it.”
Alison previously said: “I do think that good food and good baking comes from the heart - and I’ve got a lot of heart.”
Alison was a natural in the tent and told judges Paul and Dame Prue: “I love chocolate brownies. Any time I go out and about, try a brownie, it never compares to my brownies. I know that sounds really big headed.”
Prue admitted: “I don’t think we’ve ever met anybody with this much confidence.” And after trying them she declared: “They taste divine.”
