Holly Willoughby wants to make things right with Alison Hammond after she was dragged into her feud with Eamonn Holmes, it has been claimed.
Former This Morning host Eamonn accused Holly of "faking" her friendship with Alison in a bombshell interview, suggesting that their 'sudden' friendship "wouldn't have happened 13 years ago".
The veteran broadcaster made the claim in an explosive interview on GB News as he addressed ex-colleague Phillip Schofield, who admitted to having an affair with a young runner while on the ITV show.
The outspoken Irishman said it was "disgusting" that Holly was "using" the former Big Brother contestant - and his brutal remarks made things awkward on set.
But Holly is said to be keen to smooth things over with Alison said to be devastated by what's gone on.
"The last thing Holly wants is to fall out with Alison over this," a source told Heat magazine.
"Alison was really upset by her name getting mentioned in his interview.
"She’s heartbroken that Eamonn would drag her into this. She’s always got on with Holly."
Holly appeared to hit back the comments, telling his co-stars last week that: "Alison can't come because she's at mine tonight. That's what I do know!"
Eamonn said he doesn't buy the mum-of-three's 'sudden' friendship with the bubbly Brummie, who has been on This Morning for 13 years.
Speaking to Dan Wootton late last month, he said: "This nonsense about Holly Willoughby and Alison Hammond as her best friend and [Holly] was at Alison's birthday party...Alison Hammond goes to Holly Willoughby's select nights out with her friends...
"This wouldn't have happened two years ago. Are you kidding? Alison Hammond has been on the programme 13 years and I'm sure there was very little contact between her and the presenters.
"People just use other people and it's disgusting."
Eamonn didn't hold back in the bombshell interview in which he spoke about the fall out at ITV following Phillip's confession in which the father-of-two admitted to lying to his wife, ITV and his agency.
The GB News star accused the broadcaster of a "cover-up", however after the news was announced.
In the aftermath, Phillip went on to take part in a series of bombshell interviews in which he declared he is "not a groomer" and addressed his falling out with Holly, revealing that he texted her but never received a response.
