China’s cloud infrastructure spending surged by 16% year-over-year to $11.6 billion in the first quarter of 2025, primarily fueled by the accelerating adoption of enterprise artificial intelligence (AI) nationwide.

This growth highlights cloud services’ critical role in supporting China’s expanding AI capabilities, despite ongoing U.S. chip export restrictions.
