Ajax boss Alfred Schreuder has praised the 'incredible mentality' of Rangers, ahead of playing them in the Champions League. Rangers will face another trip to the Netherlands to face the Dutch champions after their success at PSV Eindhoven this week, as well as facing Napoli and Liverpool.
And the Amsterdam giants' manager admits he's wary of facing the Ibrox side. Schreuder said: " Rangers have an incredible mentality. I followed all of their campaign last season when they got to the final of the Europa League and of course, I saw them against PSV this week. I thought they were in trouble before half time, but after the loss of Luuk de Jong, they never had a moment of worry. They deserved to win."
And Ajax general manager, legendary former Manchester United keeper Edwin van der Sar has revealed he's already been in contact with Rangers boss Giovanni van Bronckhorst after the draw was made. He said: "When I look at the group, I say it's a fantastic draw.
"Obviously, British football is known to me from my years in England. The match against Rangers is special to me because of my former teammate Giovanni van Bronckhorst. In fact, he has already texted me! What did he say? 'Hello!' It will be nice to see Gio twice.
"As for Napoli, I played against them when I was at Juventus and you never get an easy game in the south of Italy. I remember there was always a fantastic atmosphere in Naples. It won't be any different now. I look forward to all these games."
