New Liverpool signing Alexis Mac Allister has revealed that the chance to lift more trophies was a reason behind pursuing a move to Anfield.
The Argentine was unveiled as the Reds’ first signing of the summer transfer window on Thursday. He has put pen to paper on a long-term deal with the Merseyside outfit with Liverpool paying Brighton £45m for his services.
Speaking after his move was made official, he suggested that he was keen to add more winners’ medals to his collection after winning the World Cup with Argentina last year. As quoted by the Reds’ official website, he said: “Since I won the World Cup, I said that I want to win more trophies and I think that this club will help me to do that – that’s the aim and when you are in a big club like this one you have to win trophies. So, that’s what I want.
