Alex Salmond remembered with Scotland vs Portugal Nations League tribute

The Tartan Army have paid an emotional tribute to the late Alex Salmond prior to tonight's UEFA Nations League clash against Portugal.

Salmond, who is best known from his time as leader of the Scottish National Party and pioneering the 'YES' campaign throughout the 2014 independence referendum, passed away on Saturday, October 12 after falling ill while attending an international conference in North Macedonia.

The 69-year-old was a passionate supporter of the Scotland national team and regularly went along to follow his country both home and away.

And the former First Minister earned a well-receipted minute's applause from Scotland and Portugal ahead of kick-off at Hampden Park for the first match since his sudden death.
