Alex Iwobi has been a star for Everton throughout the year of 2022 - and after silencing the boo boys he is a good shout to be crowned the Fans' Footballer of the Year.
When it comes to Iwobi, you could say that his whole situation on Merseyside has almost transformed as much as the club's incredible progress on a new stadium at Bramley-Moore Dock.
Signed from Arsenal in 2019, Iwobi flattered to deceive for a short while at Everton and was the source of much frustration of supporters. The Blues paid £34m for the midfielder.
VOTE: Have your say on who is Everton's player of the year
But under Blues boss Lampard, the Nigeria international has looked like a player reborn. He impressed toward the end of last season as Lampard's side stayed up by the skin of their teeth, and has been instrumental in everything that has been good about them so far this season.
Ask the vast majority of Evertonians in the closing stages of last summer's transfer window, and many might well have said that they would be willing to let the former Arsenal man leave the club.
But so impressive have Iwobi's performances been this season, both Lampard and Everton supporters are keen to see him rewarded with a new deal. His current contract at Goodison Park runs until 2024.
Iwobi has gone from strength to strength this year, and has now established himself an undroppable member of Lampard’s starting line-up. He brings the off-the-ball efforts that Evertonians love to see, and has previously hailed the manager as a key reason for his upturn in form in 2022.
"I feel like ever since the new manager came in and I came back from the Africa Cup of Nations it was almost like a new challenge and a new start," he told the ECHO during the club's pre-season tour of the US this summer.
There should only be one winner of this award and that is Alexander Chuka Iwobi.
