Alex Iwobi hailed the celebrations after his stoppage time winner against Newcastle as “one of those feelings you wish never disappears”.
His 99th minute goal secured a crucial three points and sparked wild scenes at Goodison Park. As Everton prepare for a run of important fixtures in their bid to avoid relegation he said his teammates wanted to create “more feelings like that”.
The home crowd erupted after Iwobi slotted past Martin Dubravka to hand the Blues only their second victory in 13 Premier League games. It was Everton’s first league goal in more than seven hours of football and put daylight between them and the bottom three heading into the international break.

Ahead of the trip to West Ham on Sunday, Iwobi recalled the jubilation that greeted one of the biggest goals of Everton’s season.
He said: "It was crazy, the scenes were amazing. I wish I could describe it but in the moment it was one of those feelings you wish never disappears. The main thing for us is we want to have that atmosphere all of the time so we need to keep working to make sure there are many more feelings like that.”
Placing the goal as one of the highlights of his Everton career so far, the 25-year-old added: “I couldn't quite believe it to be honest. It is just one of those moments you wish never goes away. The thing about football is it happens so quick - it's now in the past. We have to focus on what is ahead of us at the moment.”
Those scenes were followed days later by the disappointing 4-0 FA Cup quarter final defeat at Crystal Palace. Accepting the mood in the squad was downbeat following that performance, Iwobi believes the break that followed was a useful opportunity.
He said: “We all wanted to go to Wembley but we can’t beat ourselves down. I think the international break came at the right time. We could take our minds off it and go again. Some players went on international duty and are coming back on good form. The guys who stayed here were working hard, trying to get our fitness ready for the back end of the season. We’re ready.”
