Alex Cochrane points to Hearts Tynecastle factor vs Rangers as he makes 'right up for it' statement

Alex Cochrane has called on a packed out Tynecastle to be Hearts' 12th man against Rangers.

The Jambos host Michael Beale's men in what should be a blockbuster occasion under the lights in the capital. The new Light Blues gaffer is yet to taste defeat since taking over from Giovanni van Bronckhorst while the Gorgie men are on a long unbeaten run of their own that stretches over ten games.

Robbie Neilson's men will go into the clash flying with confidence with Cochrane knowing how vital a role the sold-out home support can play in pushing them on against the visitors. Rangers trail Celtic by nine points at the top of the Premiership going into this one while Hearts hold a seven point lead over Livingston - who travel to Glasgow to face the Hoops as part of a midweek card - in the race to finish third and secure European football.

Speaking at his pre-match press conference, Alex said; “We are on a good run just now, but it’s all about the next game and we know how big a game it is and how tough a test it will be.

“We are going in with confidence this time and belief which is always important and hopefully tonight, the football does the talking.

“We have good rhythm in the squad at the moment. It is a good group of lads and there is good cohesion in the team and certainly since I came here, I have seen progression in the squad as a whole.

“You always have to be confident going into these games. We know they are a very good team, but at the same time we feel that we are a very good team as well.

“At Tynecastle, the crowd are always right up for it, so they can definitely help us and hopefully tonight we get the win.”
