Garnacho and United give the fans what they have been waiting for
With the final lost, the Nottingham Forest number seven Joshua Powell lost his temper. The United players were up for some United aggro and emerged from the melee celebrating. The supporters buzzed off it. Kobbie Mainoo was still celebrating a minute later with a tackle in front of the Scoreboard End.
Such was the youthful audience for the youth team an impromptu light show ushered in added time. In a dark season, the academy is the keeper of the flame at United.
This was an uplifting evening for everyone at the club. There was a trophy presentation and 'Glory Glory Man United' played at full-time. That has not happened in nine years.

United's unused academy graduates charged onto the pitch, Hannibal Mejbri among them. Alvaro Fernandez left his seat in the directors' box to hurtle down the steps and join them. They all hared towards the Stretford End.
The retro Adidas Originals tracksuits they sported for the national anthem were a nod to the Class of '92. The banner in the Stretford End read 'Class of '22'. The latest rookies have emulated Giggs, Beckham, Butt, Scholes and the Nevilles.

Guardiola sends United spending jibe after Man City seal Haaland deal
Pep Guardiola believes that Manchester City are unfairly criticised for their transfer spending compared to rivals Liverpool and United.
City have already got the summer transfer window off to an exciting start by confirming they have secured a deal to sign Erling Haaland from Borussia Dortmund. The initial fee for the Norwegian sensation is only £51million, but that rises significantly to around £86million once agents' fees and bonuses are added.
It's another big-money signing for the Blues less than a year on from their £100m acquisition of Jack Grealish last summer, which is a British transfer record. City have also spent significantly in every year of Guardiola's reign, with upwards of a further £770m being spent on his squad.
City have predictably come in for criticism from some corners for the amount they spend but Guardiola has moved to point out that England's top side has always been the biggest spender, including United and Liverpool.
