Aldi is set to open five new stores across the UK in the coming weeks as part of its expansion plans.
The discount supermarket chain, which currently has 990 stores in the UK, will open two locations in June.
These new stores will be in Southampton and Whittlesey.
A further three stores will then open in July in Norwich, Castle Donington and Porthcawl.
The new stores form part of Aldi’s commitment to invest more than £400 million in-store development this year.
The supermarket chain says the new store openings will create around 40 jobs on average.
Store Assistants at Aldi can earn up to £11 nationally, and £12.45 inside the M25 - this is rising to £11.40 and £12.85 respectively from July.
George Brown, real estate director at Aldi UK, said: “Demand for Aldi has never been higher, and more than two thirds of British households already shop with us.
“However, there are still too many people for whom shopping at Aldi isn’t a convenient option and we’re committed to changing that, giving even more people access to our award-winning products at unbeatable prices.
“To meet that demand, we are investing in new stores up and down the country and won’t stop until we’ve made quality, affordable food accessible to everyone.”
In March, Aldi said that it planned to open 40 new stores over the next year and released a list of where it wants to open 30 of them.
Aldi has a target of eventually having 1,200 stores in the UK.
Aldi said the reason for the openings comes after the demand for budget groceries has "never been higher".
Last year Aldi overtook Morrisons to become Britain's fourth-largest UK grocery chain.
Aldi was also recently crowned the UK's "cheapest" supermarket for the 12 consecutive months by the consumer champion Which?
Which? found that the price of a basket of 40 goods came to £68.60 at the discount supermarket in May.
This was £18.31 cheaper than the most expensive store, Waitrose which had a basket price of £86.91 for the same shop.
Fellow German discount retailer Lidl took second place with a basket price of £70.51.
