It’s definitely been ice cream weather in Manchester this week, and Aldi have sent shoppers scrambling to stores to get their hands on their new dessert sauces that are ‘perfect for summer’.
The German budget retailer has just released two squeezy dessert sauces in quintessentially British pud flavours – Banoffee, and Rhubarb and Custard - and shoppers are excited to try them.
Aldi is believed to be the first supermarket to offer dessert sauces in these two flavours, which cost 99p each.

Having just hit shelves, the popular sauces have already sparked a frenzy with shoppers on social media. Instagram accounts such as @newestproductsuk and @foodfindsuk have been raving to their thousands of followers about these must-have new finds – urging shoppers to ‘grab them now!’
One shopper who’d already tried them said: “The banoffee one is banging.”
“How nice over vanilla ice cream,” said another. “These sound lovely and are perfect for summer,” wrote a third.
A fourth added: “I've never shopped at Aldi and I think I'm about to now.” A fifth wrote: “Oh my sounds amazing.”
On the Banoffee sauce, Aldi said: “Shoppers are going bananas for this squeezy sauce take on a classic vintage pud, which oozes with sweet toffee and creamy banana flavours.” Meanwhile Rhubarb & Custard captures ‘all the scrumptious tastes’ of the tangy and sweet dessert.
The new flavours join the existing collection of popular dessert sauces on Aldi’s shelves, including Strawberry, Toffee, Chocolate, and Maple, ideal for top ice-cream, piling onto pancakes or simply eat straight off the spoon. The sauces are in store now, but shoppers need to be quick because as with all Specialbuys, they won’t be around for long.
