Supermarket giant Aldi is hiring thousands of people, with salaries of up to £81,000 a year on offer. The retailer has launched a recruitment drive as it looks to open more stores in the UK.
It comes as many people in the UK strike for higher wages due to the cost of living crisis. Aldi wants to hire more than 6,000 new employees across the country.
It has opened a new training scheme for area managers who could benefit from the bountiful wage within just five years. People taking part get a year of training and are skilled up to run all Aldi branches in an area.

Salaries start from £44,000 for successful applicants in the first year, with permanent contracts offered after that point. Workers' pay could rises to more than £81,000 by the fifth year, the Mirror reports.
Aldi UK recruitment director Kelly Stokes said: "We’re on the lookout for some of the most hardworking and ambitious individuals to join our team as part of the area manager programme. The scheme gives individuals the chance to learn the ins and outs of the sector at one of the fastest-growing retailers in the country, while also receiving in-depth training along the way."
The supermarket has fast grown to dominate groceries in the UK, with more than 970 stores and new plans to open 16 more by the end of the year. As a result, Aldi said it will soon be hiring for 6,000 more jobs.
The areas where Aldi is still looking to bring new stores include Bath and Birmingham, as well as smaller towns such as Penzance and Maidenhead. The budget store is looking for specific locations for its new hubs, according to MyLondon.
It comes after the branch opened an eco-friendly store in Royal Leamington Spa earlier this month in a bid to reduce carbon emissions by up to two-thirds and make recycling easier for customers.
