Albert Bridge 'won't become a cycling and pedestrian crossing' as council vows to reopen it to cars

Albert Bridge will not be allowed to become another Hammersmith bridge and will be reopened to vehicles, councillors have promised.

Kensington and Chelsea council on Wednesday evening rejected a “do nothing” option and approved a full repair of the bridge – which is likely to cost about £8.5m and take a year to complete.
