Alanna Quinn Idris and Six Nations stars lead this week's Late Late Show lineup

The Ballyfermot girl who was the victim of the shocking gang attack that left her blind in one eye will tell the nation her story on this Friday's Late Late Show.

Alanna Quinn Idris was blinded in one eye after being attacked on December 30th, 2021. Alanna will join Ryan Tubridy to discuss how her life changed that day, what it was like giving her victim impact statement in court this week, and her long road to recovery.

A teenager who took part in the assault that a judge termed a “savage attack” was sentenced to four and a half years in prison today. Darragh Lyons (19) of Weir View, Glenaulin, Chapelizod, Dublin 20, pleaded guilty to assault causing serious harm and violent disorder on the Ballyfermot Road on December 30, 2021. Alanna , now aged 18, was hit in the face with the saddle of an electric scooter by another person, fracturing her eye socket and leaving her permanently blind in her right eye.

Elsewhere, following an incredible weekend for Irish rugby, three members of Ireland's Grand Slam-winning squad will join Tubridy in studio on Friday night to reflect an historic Six Nations campaign.

Dan Sheehan, Josh van der Flier and Andrew Porter will be chatting about the celebrations that followed Saturday’s historic victory over England - and why the night before the game was one of the most surreal experiences they’ve ever had as a team. Leinster prop Porter will also be supporting Daffodil Day and the great work of the Irish Cancer Society.

Cork duo Kevin Twomey and PJ Kirby's popular podcast I'm Grand Mam are set to release their 100th episode next week and to celebrate the pair will be chatting to Tubridy about how Paul Mescal begged to be on their show, Irish boys and their undying love for their mammies, and why they are fairly certain Michael Collins is a fan.

Friday's show will also see the return of The Late Late Big Repair Challenge, hosted by Gaff Goddess author Laura DeBarra. Five passion projects were carefully selected and will be unveiled on the show ahead of their beautiful restoration which will be revealed in the coming weeks.

Tubridy will also be speaking to Alanna Quinn Idris, who blinded in one eye after being attacked on December 30th, 2021. Alanna will appear on Fridays show to discuss how her life changed that day, what it was like giving her victim impact statement in court this week and her long road to recovery.

English singer-songwriter Freya Ridings will also be in studio to perform her newest single Weekends, while Louth artist David Keenan is also set to perform his viral hit El Paso.

The Late Late Show airs on RTE One this Friday (March 24) at 9:35pm.
